Child safety is our top priority!

The Virugambakkam fire team conducted a mock fire safety drill to demonstrate essential fire prevention and emergency response practices. The team, led by Mr. Sivashankaran, the Assistant District Officer of the central district, educated students on fire hazards, various fire classifications, evacuation procedures, and the importance of contacting emergency services. He also outlined the do's and don'ts during fire incidents and emphasised the critical "golden minutes." Students learned how to extinguish fires and properly use fire extinguishers. Both students, teachers, and staff participated in hands-on training for a swift and organised evacuation during a fire emergency.

The Best Teacher Award 2024

We proudly announce that four dedicated teachers from Swamy's School have been honoured with the Best Teacher Award for 2024-25 by the Central Cluster-Zone 5 of Chennai Sahodaya Schools at La Chatelaine Junior College. The esteemed Guest of Honour, Dr. Prof. Vijay Shankar, Fellow of Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai, presented the awards.

Field Trip To Pondicherry

The students of Class XI had an exciting field trip to Pondicherry. They visited a historic temple during the trip to learn about the area's spiritual heritage. After the temple visit, they relaxed at the beach, enjoying the coastal views and tranquil atmosphere. This combination of cultural exploration and time in nature made the trip both educational and refreshing for the students.

Hindi Diwas

Hindi Diwas was celebrated to honour the language and commemorate the adoption of Hindi as India's official language. The event began with students singing melodious Hindi songs, followed by the recitation of classic Dohas that highlighted the beauty of the language. A captivating dance-drama was performed. Additionally, a creative display (varnamala) of each Hindi letter, intricately designed by the students, added a unique touch to the celebration, emphasising the importance of the Hindi language. The programme concluded with a message encouraging students to take pride in the language.

Memorable two-day trip to Yelagiri Hills

Memorable Two-Day Trip to Yelagiri Hills! ✨🌿

The Class XII students accompanied by the teachers set off on an exciting two-day adventure to Yelagiri Hills on the 8th and 9th of September 2024. Filled with enthusiasm, they sang and danced their way from Chennai to the AGS Holiday Resort in Yelagiri.

Upon arrival, they were warmly welcomed by the tour guide. After a delicious lunch, the students visited Fundera Park, where they had an unforgettable experience with the birds, as they flew and perched right on their hands! 🦜 Later, they hiked up to a scenic viewpoint, soaking in the beauty of nature.

The evening was fun around a cozy campfire, where the boys showcased their creativity with kolams and rangolis, while the girls enjoyed face painting. The day ended with a movie screening under the stars. 🎥✨

The next morning, the adventure continued with an exhilarating trek to another picturesque spot, followed by a refreshing visit to the water park, where they splashed around on the slides and rode the artificial waves. 🌊

The trip wrapped up with a group photo, capturing memories that will last a lifetime. It was a special experience for the students as they celebrated one of their final moments of school life together. 📸 ✨

Ganesh Chaturthi Celebration

On the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, our school organised a celebration creating a divine and serene atmosphere. The event began with students chanting sacred mantras to seek the blessings of Lord Ganesha. Following the prayers, young actors dressed as Ganesha, Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvati, and other mythological characters brought the stories to life through their performances. The celebration continued with vibrant song and dance performances, as students danced to festival songs. The celebration's highlight was the traditional pooja performed for the Ganesha idols at all our campuses, while students offered flowers and sang bhajans. The celebration concluded with aarti, filling the environment with a sense of peace and positivity.

Teachers' Day Celebration

At Swamy's school, Teachers' Day was celebrated with great excitement. The students warmly welcomed their teachers, and the campus buzzed with heartfelt wishes. Excitement filled the air as students presented gifts, chocolates, and flowers to their beloved teachers. A special meal was served to all the staff, who relished the delicious feast. In the afternoon, the senior students organised a lively celebration with music, dance, and games for the teachers. The teachers were divided into teams, participating with joy and laughter and the day concluded with the Correspondent presenting gifts to the teachers as a token of appreciation.

Aacharya Vandanam

As part of our IMCTF programme, “Aacharya Vandam – Reverence for Teachers – The Concept of Guru” was performed on the 5th of September by the students of Swamy’s School. Reverence for Teachers is seen as Reverence for Education. As education builds the nation's future, building reverence for learning through reverence for teachers is critical in contemporary times. The Indian tradition has always revered the teacher, as evident from the following verse :

Gurur brahma gurur vishnur gurur devo maheswarah

Guru sakshatpara brahma tasmai shri gurave namah

The students performed Padha Pooja with piety and reverence for their gurus and sought their blessings.

Field Trip to Iconic Landmarks in Vellore

Our Class VIII students recently visited two iconic landmarks in Vellore: the awe-inspiring Golden Temple and the historic Vellore Fort, which houses a fascinating museum. The day started with a trip to the Golden Temple, where students gained insight into the elaborate designs and the importance of devotion, fostering a deeper respect for our cultural heritage. Later, the students explored the majestic Vellore Fort, a symbol of resilience and history. As they walked through the ancient corridors, they caught glimpses of ancient idols, traditional dress wear, and cultural artifacts. This visit was a perfect blend of understanding the spiritual and historical heritage of Tamil Nadu.
