National Library Day was celebrated today in honour of Mr. S. R. Ranganathan, the father of library science in India, renowned for his two major contributions: The Five Laws of Library Science and the Colon Classification System. The event featured Mr. Baskar R, Librarian & Information Assistant Grade -1, at Anna Centenary Library, and Mr. V Parthasarathy, Library Information Officer at Army Public School, as the chief guests. They delivered insightful speeches about the significance of libraries. Students participated by performing a dance and giving speeches about Librarian's Day and the proper use of library resources. Additionally, they created a model of a library, which was displayed for all to see.
