Sangeetha Kathanubhavam - Music Workshop
Our Class IX students had the wonderful opportunity to attend ‘Sangeetha Kathanubhavam’, a special music workshop jointly organised by The Music Academy and The Music Forum at the Music Academy, Chennai. It was a memorable half-day event filled with learning, inspiration, and appreciation for our rich cultural heritage.
The programme began on a divine note, with our school choir presenting the invocation song. The event was inaugurated by President Shri.N.Murali in the presence of Shri K.N.Ramaswamy, Director of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Chennai Kendra, along with Dr.Sunder.
The sessions that followed were enriching and inspiring:
Session 1 – Speaker: Dr.S. Sunder & J.B. Keerthana | Mridangam: Sai Raghavan | Flute: Shruti Sagar
Session 2 – Speaker: Dr. Sudha Sheshayyan | Vocal: Vidya Kalyanaraman | Mridangam: Sai Raghavan | Violinist: Dr. Vijayaraghavan
Session 3 – Tamil Nadu Music College showcased a variety of musical instruments
Students also gained valuable insights into Carnatic music traditions, such as Purandara Dasa’s contributions, Saint Tyagaraja’s compositions and the beauty of Thiruppugazh.
We are proud to share that our school was the 2nd recipient of the prestigious Yuva Rasika Award! Each student also received a certificate of participation.
The workshop was truly enriching — from performing, learning, and interacting with eminent musicians to exploring instruments and listening to soulful renditions.
A day of music, tradition, and inspiration to cherish!
